Geography Bee 2015

St John School Geography winners were Cameron Porter, 3rd place,in orange; Runner-up, Lucas Ortiz,in red; and Champion Emily Wetzel

The National Geographic Bee is a competition for public schools, private schools, and homeschools in the United States Atlantic and Pacific territories, and Department of Defense Dependents Schools (DoDDS). Schools with students in grades four through eight are eligible to participate in this educational and entertaining contest.

The National Geographic Bee School Champions are required to take an additional test from Nat Geo to advance to State. Mrs Chang monitored the test and forms for Emily Wetzel and then sent the test to Nat Geo for grading. Only 100 Students from each State are chosen for the advancement; and from them, only one will advance to the National. Waiting was exciting and finally the word came that Emily was on to State. She had a great time. The competition was fun and challenging.
